Blog Header Design Spotlight-VetWriter.com

I had the opportunity to work on a fun blog header for a repeat customer from Australia that is going to be offering original articles along with PLR content in the pet niche.
I love it when an idea just comes to me and all the pieces fall together. My first rendering, shown here was designed for the kubrick header in the Wordpress default theme, but I was unsure of the theme she was going to use.

As it turns out, she wanted to eliminate the copy under the title and increase the header width to 960px. That left me scratching my head because the space was too large for the graphic and text as is. And I thought the main text was already maxxed out height wise.
I had the idea to put more animals in, but her emphasis is cats and dogs, and my idea for a horse looking in a window was a bit overboard, but a window would take up some of that open space.

Here is the final image. At first she didn’t care for the colors I chose, in fact she wrote back and said…
I was a bit taken aback by the colour at first, but you know, I really like it! It’s so different.
Another happy customer.
What do you think?

Blog Header Design Spotlight- theGhostWriter.info
Posted by: | CommentsEvery so often, I get to do something I really enjoy and the blog header from theGhostWriter.info is definitely one of those times.
Not that I think Nicolas Cage was at all believable as the Ghost Rider, I enjoyed seeing another of my favorite obscure comic books come to the big screen. And anything with Sam Elliott in it is good enough for me.
So, when Jason Kodiak asked me to help with his blog header, I almost knew immediately what this was going to look like.
Jason is also using the FlexxBold theme by iThemes. He just let me do what I wanted.
When I showed him my idea, he went a little crazy. That’s to say he really loved it. I told him I had a cool idea for a twitter follow button and he went for it.
Poor little twitter birdie.
I’d love to hear what you think about it. (I had several comments before, but they were lost in the crash.)

Blog Header Spotlight: ILoveGuitars.info
Posted by: | CommentsThe first blog header design project in the spotlight is a fun one I did for ILoveGuitars.info. It’s a new blog started by a young man that really loves guitars.
Coincidently, he’s using the same Flexx Premium wordpress theme that I use here on BlogHeaderGuy.com. For the most part, I really like these these themes, when I’m not crashing them that is.
The young man was just starting out and didn’t have a lot of money to spend, (who does?) so he wanted a simple design that had a guitar image and the name of his blog.
That was simple. I showed him this image first which he liked, but asked me if I could do another.

So, I put together another couple of headers using some stock photos I had and like what usually happens…now he couldn’t decide which one he wanted. I told him about the rotating header feature on his theme and gave him a package deal of eight headers.

I included this custom twitter follow banner and he was ecstatic.
He’s extremely happy with the work I did for him. So much so, that he told a friend of his that does ghostwriting and told him to just let me do my magic. I love it when they say that.
I plan to have a Blog Header Spotlight featuring theGhostwriter.info project up later this evening.
Tell me what you think. I’d love to hear your comments.
