You know how when you're surfing the net and you come across a blog header where you say.."hey, a little tweak and I could make this site look great."
Really? You don't do that? Oh.
Well, sometimes I can't help myself. 
Blog Header Guy Makeover- Curly Girl's Crochet etc.
It's time for another of my guerrilla blog header makeovers. Since I don't I don't really have much to say, I'll keep this one short and sweet.
Stumbling my way around blogcatalog.com I visited a site where the owner does some really cool crocheting. I'm not into crochet, not that it isn't manly to do it, but I love seeing creative people do what they love to do. And Sonya clearly loves to crochet.
She actually crochets little dolls using a Japanese technique known as amigurumi. It's really cool to see what she can do with some yarn.
I can appreciate the minimalist style of the Minima blogger template and have written about it before. I just thought I could make an improvement by adding some personality.
I got the idea for this blog header redesign from this button Sonya has on her site. I wanted to maintain some design continuity using the Curlz typeface and floral elements.
Well, there it is. I think it brings her blog header to life, but what do you think?
I just sent her a message and can't wait to hear what she thinks, but I've learned that sometimes the response is not always what I imagine.

Hello Roy! I came by last night, (late) for a quick look see, but I wanted to have time to give you a proper response, so I'm returning today to give you my feedback. Actually, I love the header! Funny I've actually been complaining about my "plain" header for the past couple of weeks so I was excited to see your makeover. I like how you used the colors and fonts from my badge, and it does match my blog's 'personality.' Great job and thank you!
Oh and thanks so much for the compliments about my work. I do love to crochet and I like getting feedback.

On a note to you Roy. What happened to your blog? I read that your articles where being stolen and you were working on stopping that but your blog is now grey and black and looks very different than it did the other day. Are you updating it or is my computer freaking

Roy – the header looks great as it "brightens" up the blog a bit. Just wondering, what color would you suggest to soften the dark background?
You know Mike, its not so much the dark background as the wrong use of font colors. If it were my blog, I would probably have the page content area different from the content wrapper. Remember that she uses a lot of photos and they always look better on a darker background.

Good point, making the page content area different would be easier on the eyes (we live and learn).
